How can I use the MF206A internal GPS ?

Hello, I wonder if somebody have any experience/comments on using the internal GPS of the MF206 module on the SparqEE CELLv1.0,
- Works fine? is a true GPS internally or is a A-GPS?
- Is it better to have an external GPS?
I saw little about it and the docs seems to be poor.

Appreciate all your help!,

hernan.

In present form, the GPS connectors are not populated. The U.FL and matching circuitry isn't populated but the pads are there. If you'd like to use GPS you would have to impedance match the inductors/capacitors and populate the U.FL pads that are available on-board.

If you are looking to do that, let me know and I can provide more information on that function that we do not currently use.

Hello guys

first of all my congrats for all the info & works done here! As MF206 user I was wondering if the GPS is available and under which conditions can be used.

From above it looks like within the module all the HW is available and just the external antenna connector is missing (correct me if am wrong)

Could you provide some documentation?

Thanks :!:

All passives are 0402 sized pads
U.FL pad is a Hirose P/N
You'd need a separate GPS antenna.
